The Peace Bridge
Since Peter has been living in Calgary, a new bridge across the Bow River has been constructed. It has been a huge deal with many delays. I have watched the process through the years of visiting. This very contemporary structure has been dubbed the bridge to no where.....for now aka The Peace Bridge. At a price of $25,000,000 it has been the topic of discussion by many a Calgarian. Apparently, most people look at it as an object of art. When I was walking by it yesterday, people were stopping to have their pictures taken on the bridge. Peter told me that it is even used as a back drop for many wedding photos. It is hard to tell in the photograph but the skeleton of the bridge is a red or maroon color. It is interesting to see at night as it has lights on it that are quite nice. The Peace Bridge has also been featured in a "Visit Alberta" advertisement on television. I must admit, it is a nice addition to the Eau Claire area of Calgary.
